Welcome to our third edition of Nominet News for 2007.

The months since our previous edition have been extremely busy, exciting and challenging in equal measure.

At the beginning of June we released our Online Services for registrars and registrants. This major project enables customers to manage their accounts online and lays the foundations for significant developments in the future such as the launch of EPP. In this issue we hear from Jay Daley, Director of IT and Eleanor Bradley, Director of Operations about the challenges and successes associated with the data restructure and project implementation. Encouraging news from our latest registrar survey

We conducted our third registrar satisfaction survey in the Spring and we now have the results. As with previous surveys, our aim was to give all our members and registrars the opportunity to tell us how satisfied they are with our customer facing support teams. 307 customers completed the web-based questionnaire and we would like to thank them for their participation. New Registrar Agreement and Good Practice Terms

In September 2005, following the results of our customer satisfaction survey, in which over 80 per cent of registrars who responded said that they felt increased regulation or a code of conduct for the Internet industry was required, the Policy Advisory Body (PAB) agreed that Nominet should look at the issue of industry standards. We therefore undertook the consultation on Raising Industry Standards from 31st January to 31st May 2006. We have reviewed the consultation responses along with feedback from members, MPs and other interested parties. After discussion with the PAB it was agreed that the existing Tag Holder Agreement will be replaced with:

Nominet hosts a series of events for our members and registrars throughout the year.

Taking place at various locations around the country, our popular Registrar Information Days are a great opportunity to find out more about our business processes and learn about our current systems and future developments. Representatives from our Member and Registrar services team will be available throughout this full day of presentations, demonstrations of new systems and discussions, giving you the chance to ask questions about any aspect of our services.
